KA's® Fine Print

This information is provided for transparency only and should not be considered legal advice.

TL;DR:
Grow them, trade them, enjoy them. If you plan to sell KA’s® tubers or plants, you’ll need a license. We didn’t make the rules - we’re just being upfront and transparent.

The Fine Print

Here at Heaven On Earth Gardens, we believe in transparency. That means being very clear and upfront when it comes to dahlias that come with… strings attached.

Because we sell KA’s® varieties, part of that deal is making sure buyers understand the rules before they accidentally step in it. We didn’t write the rules — but we do have to play by them.

So here it is, in plain English.

If you are a normal human who just grows dahlias for joy:

Good news! You are basically free as a bird.

You can:

  • Grow them
  • Multiply them
  • Trade them
  • Gift them
  • Donate them
  • Sell the cut flowers
  • Collect seeds and grow those

No permission. No license. No paperwork. Live your best dahlia life.

If you plan to sell KA's tubers, cuttings, or plants:

Okay… here’s where the strings show up.

  • We don’t love this policy
  • We didn’t design this system
  • But transparency matters, so here we are

If you plan to sell propagation material (even a little, even once, even “just to a friend”), you’ll need to be licensed through Santa Cruz Dahlias.

  • If you plan to sell → please get licensed
  • If you don’t plan to sell → carry on, no worries, and enjoy your flowers

Licensing and royalty agreements are handled directly by Santa Cruz Dahlias and not by us.

That’s it. No drama. No surprises. Just honest information so you can decide what works for you.
